In the mean time the World is on Fire.


I haven't written for a long time. Between the holiday rush, then Covid-19, then the senseless death of many a black person, then the protests and riots, I just lost it. 
The World is in so much upheaval. So much hate and division. So much selfishness. Don't worry, I'm not going to go on a political rant how poorly everything is being handled. What I'd like to do is give suggestions on how a sensitive or empath can navigate through times like this. 

Empaths and sensitives feel everything that's going on. The negative energy is palpable in the air. How can we shied ourselves and stay balanced? (Here comes another list:)

~ One way is to meditate and cleanse ourselves every day. Concentrate on the positives, what we do have, not on the "what if's". Use a sage wand and smudge yourself and your home, everyday. 

~Use different incenses to create a positive, loving energy in your space and to surround you in positive energy.

~ Wear Smoky Quartz and any black stone like Onyx, Tourmaline or Obsidian to help shield yourself from the negativity, sadness and fear surrounding you. 

~ Sleep with Rose Quartz, Selenite and Amethyst near your head, under the bed and at your feet. 

~ Talk with like minded people. Find a group, talk things over. Have a video chat session with a energy healer. 

~ Eat clean foods and drink a lot of water. Try to avoid processed foods. These tend to weigh us down physically and mentally.

~ Drink lots of herbal teas. Cold or hot. The energy of the herbs will help you stay calm, happy and balanced.

~ Take a stick of chalk and draw sigils of protection and happiness on the outside of your doors. If you have a glass door you can use olive oil to paint it on. Sure the dirt will start to stick but nothing alcohol can't clean up later. 

~ Shut out the news. Nothing brings me more sadness, despair and anger then watching or listening to the news. Ask a family member to alert you to any emergencies, but other then that, shut it out. 

~ Take a break from social media! Don't look, read, click or respond. So much division and hate is being thrown around, even between families, on social media. Not to mention the staggering amount of fake, confusing information. 

~ Light a candle. For those who have lost their lives (White candle for peace). For those who are hurting (Brown for healing, Pink for loving energy). For those you can't help (Orange candle for strength). For those who have lost their jobs (Green candle for luck finding a new job), For protection (black candle to shield you). Use a blue candle to help calm your spirit, yellow to lift your spirits.

~ Take a bath or shower with salt. You can use a salt scrub in the shower. Add to bath water when you are feeling especially depressed, angry & negative. Salt has been used for psychic clearing and for purification for centuries. In addition, bowls of salt may be placed into a room to absorb negative energy or psychic energy disturbances. Put a line of white salt on your windowsills and door ways.
